Euro Lit 12/3/12

Euro Lit Notes 12/3/12

-Book 7 number 23: Matter can not be created or destroyed, it is only reused. Cycle of nature, of life.
-Compares to wax, you can mold wax into your own shape and it doesn’t mind, just changing it’s appearance which relates to the next book -
-Book 9 number 19: Everything is always changing. You yourself are in a constant state of change and destruction.
            -String theory and theoretical physics
-Book 2 number 15: Everything is an opinion, but in saying that everything is an opinion, that in itself is an opinion (things are only helpful if you know it is an opinion)
-An opinion is anything that you aren’t completely certain of.
-Is there such a thing as a fact? Do we know anything for certain?
-There is only one thing we know for certain: I doubt therefore I am (I think therefore I am).
-However, there are facts. 2 + 2 = 4. That is a fact. But for it to be a fact we have to prove it in every single situation. In another universe, 2 + 2 does not equal 4. There is no true or false in the subatomic world, it is based off of probability. 2 + 2 = 13 in the subatomic universe, or any other number. So, it is a fact in our world, but not in every world.
-Book 5 number 28:  Being upset about something and not doing anything won’t get you anywhere.
